About Me

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Wilson and I was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. When I graduated from Conemaugh Township High School in 2012, I ventured off to Murray State University in Kentucky where I discovered my calling to become a teacher. I graduated in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education.

I am absolutely in love with English. Some of my favorite works of literature are Gulliver’s Travels, The Scarlet Letter, Lord of the Flies, Les Miserables, To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet, and the Harry Potter series. I love reading and bringing literature to life, for it is an irreplaceable escape, a beautiful adventure. I consider my love and interest for my subject area as one of my biggest strengths. I use this strength to motivate and engage my students and to expose the knowledge, challenge, and joy that studying English Language Arts can bring. English is the best subject for students to relate to life lessons. They can use their imaginations, connect with characters,  and hear a story, all while learning essential material for their futures.  There is nothing more rewarding than experiencing the development and success of my students. I love knowing that I am capable of sharing all of my knowledge in order to positively influence their lives in and outside of the classroom. I love being someone my students can look up to and count on. My classroom will always mold into a family who is working toward the same goal, which is to be the best person and best student they can be.

Currently, I am very eager to find the school that is the perfect fit for me. I am a creative, motivated, dependable, kind person who belongs in a classroom. I am very excited to positively influence the lives of many students!
